Introduction

Aetria Use-Case:

Airport Security Control Center

Busy international airports require up-to-date command-and-control facilities. Aetria can be used to share sources across control rooms, monitoring vast amounts of HD sources and hundreds of IP streams.

Project Brief

Project Brief

An international airport requires a revamp of their security control center.

The control center consists of three separate rooms. The main room has three video walls and 26 operator workstations. Rooms 2 and 3 have a single video wall with 14 and 8 workstations respectively.

Sources are shared across all three rooms. There are 500 IP camera streams (720p) on an existing dedicated camera network, and 50 security scanner PCs (1080p HDMI) located in a separate server room.

The customer will be installing a new 10Gb network to provide connectivity for the installation.

How it works

How It Works

1. The Aetria Network Manager, a preconfigured appliance, is connected to the corporate network. It manages all sources, video wall controllers, and workstations.

2. The 6x3 video wall is powered by a VSN controller with Aetria WallControl Pro software. It is preconfigured with Image2K graphics cards to drive the video wall screens and ActiveSQX IP decode cards to capture camera streams from the existing camera network.

3. Five operator workstations are each powered by VSNMicro systems, pre-populated with Image4K cards to drive the three 4K workstation screens and ActiveSQX cards to give secure access to the camera feeds.

Description QTY

Aetria WallControl runs on Datapath VSN video wall controllers and provides seamless integration of video walls in Aetria. VSN systems are engineered for mission critical and crisis room applications.

The Aetria WallControl License connects VSN powered video walls to the Aetria system and enables complete seamless control. Placement and organization of content on connected video walls is easy with support for layouts, templates, On-Screen Display (OSD) and carousels. A Standard License allows up to 8 SQX IP decodes, and a Professional License allows unlimited SQX IP decodes.

The Image2K graphics card has been designed to power multi-screen, video wall and LED installations, enabling seamless mixing of 4K and HD outputs, all at 60 frames per second over direct HDMI outputs.

Designed for professional, multi-screen and video wall installations, the Image4K is a very powerful graphics card, enabling scalable solutions, that delivers full 4K60 4:4:4 content over four HDMI 2.0 outputs.

The VSNMicro controller is fully customisable with options available for different Intel processors, hard drive sizes and specifications, memory configurations and software choices.

The ActiveSQX includes a dedicated processor capable of decoding several IP streams simultaneously via the on-board ethernet ports. Fully PCIe compatible, multiple ActiveSQX cards can be used in a single system to provide project scalability giving users more processing and more simultaneous decodes.

The Aetria Network Manager simplifies the setup and management of Aetria solutions. It is an appliance that is provided pre-configured with Aetria Command Center software, requiring only power and a connection to the network to get started.

An Aetria Network License is installed within the Aetria Network Appliance. Both the appliance and license must be purchased.

Aetria Workstation gives Control Room Operators the flexibility to view multiple sources on their local workstation screens. Using single or multiple monitors, operators can segment their desktop into dedicated zones to display any combination of sources available in Aetria alongside their main desktop and local applications.

If the Control Room includes the Premium Graphics Package, a package must also be purchased for every Aetria wall controller and Aetria Workstation.
