Introduction

Aetria Use-Case:
Energy Trading and Dispatch

A utility complex can utilize Aetria to connect its control center and crisis room with hundreds of sources. Enabling sources to be viewable on all video walls and operator workstations, including process monitoring PCs with SCADA, server PCs that run mapping applications allowing for KVM control, all on a 10Gb network infrastructure.

Project Brief

Project Brief

A large electricity and gas supplier requires a refit of their trading and dispatch control room.

There are two 5x3 video walls and 16 operator workstations in the control room, each with two 4K screens. There will be 12 operators in the control room at any one time working in shift patterns. Four of the workstations are allocated as hot standbys for use by any operator if needed.

There is also a single large 4K display in a separate meeting room that will be used for displaying any source as needed.

Multiple types of sources from different networks need to be available to view and control by the operators (see next slide).

A new dedicated AV network will be installed for the control room.

How it works

How It Works

1. The Aetria Network Manager, a preconfigured appliance, is connected to dedicated 10Gb network. It manages all sources, video wall controllers, and workstations.

2. Two Video walls and two VSNs – Two 5x3 video walls, each powered by a VSN1182, preconfigured with capture and graphics cards. The capture cards are connected to Aligo Receivers, to allow any source to be captured and displayed.

3. Meeting Room – A separate meeting room has a single 84” 4K screen connected to an Aligo Receiver to allow display of any source.

4. Workstation – There are 16 operator workstations powered directly by Aligo.

5. Sources – There are 30 different sources across two separate networks. Aligo QTX are used to bring sources securely onto the dedicated 10Gb network.

Description QTY

Aetria WallControl runs on Datapath VSN video wall controllers and provides seamless integration of video walls in Aetria. VSN systems are engineered for mission critical and crisis room applications.

Using Datapath’s latest generation of video capture cards and graphics cards, they capture many types of video and data sources for viewing on any display configuration. They enable hundreds of sources to be captured, processed, and displayed on large video walls of up to 96 screens.

The Image2K graphics card has been designed to power multi-screen, video wall and LED installations, enabling seamless mixing of 4K and HD outputs, all at 60 frames per second over direct HDMI outputs.

The Aetria Network Manager simplifies the setup and management of Aetria solutions. It is an appliance that is provided pre-configured with Aetria Command Center software, requiring only power and a connection to the network to get started.

An Aetria Network License is installed within the Aetria Network Appliance. Both the appliance and license must be purchased.

The Aligo QTX100 is a quad AVoIP transmitter with four HDMI inputs.

The device connects up to four HDMI 2.0 inputs (4K60) to your 10G AV network. Use in conjunction with a VSN controller to distribute up to 16 independent HD outputs per unit.

The Aligo RX100 is a single AVoIP receiver with four HDMI outputs. Receiving either a single 4K or four independent HD feeds.

The device drives a 4K native or four HD displays from each unit. Keyboard and mouse connectivity is supported for KVM control of sources via the onboard YSB 2.0 interfaces.

Datapath’s Premium Service Package is available for all Aetria projects and includes 24-hour support (Mon-Fri), 5-Year manufacturing hardware warranty, and advanced swap-out service.

Datapath’s commissioning service assists integrators and suppliers with the installation and configuration of all Aetria project components.
